This Week in Golf – 4/30/2024
It was cool, cloudy and breezy.  It felt more like the start of April than the end.  Heavy rains overnight left the course
with standing water in places.
Chris Neumann was much happier with his round this week compared to last.  Given that he had the low round of
the week with a five over par score of 39 on the front, he had every right to be happy.
On the back nine, Dave Pennie matched Chris's score relative to par with a five over par score of 41.
There were several pretty low net scores this week.  The best of the bunch belonged to Bill Meehan, who had a net
score of four under par on the front nine.  That gives Bill the lead for Low Net A for the year.
Mike Nolan and Andy Symons trailed Bill by one stroke with net scores of three under par, while Sue Donovan and
Dave Pennie had net scores of two under par.
Norma Giannattasio nearly aced the fourth hole.  Her tee ball settled a mere two inches from the hole.  That was
easily good enough to win the weekly Closest to the Pin prize.
Chris O'Brien took the scenic route on the way to making birdie on the par four 13th hole.  His drive found the rough
on the 12th hole.  He was able to get over the trees and onto the green with his second, then rolled in the putt for
birdie.
