This Week in Golf – 7/12/2022
The league resumed regular play after the holiday break.  With the temperature reaching 90 degrees, it was the
warmest day so far.  The matches finished well before the thunderstorms arrived.
Joe Shea and Bill Meehan tied for the low round of the week.  Each posted scores of six over par 42 on the back
nine.
There were several low net scores this week.  By far, the best of the bunch was Judi Gray's net score of nine
under par on the back nine.  Her gross score of 49 was five strokes better than her partner's.  Judi now owns the
Low Net B score for the year all by herself.
Jim Stead posted a net score of five under par, while Alan Fraser, Bill Meehan and Rich Geary all had net scores of
three under par.
Despite the low scores, there were no birdies made this week.
Jim Geary must have really wanted the sleeve of balls this week.  Not only did his distance of 17 feet on the sixth
hole claim the Closest to the Pin prize, his distance of 27 feet on the fourth hole was second best.
