This Week in Golf – 5/3/2022
The 2022 season finally got underway after a two week delay.  From the scores, it appears as though it has been a
long break for most players.  The greens had recently been aerated, which didn't help matters much.
Only a handful of players broke 50 this week.  The low round of the group was posted by Joe Shea, with a score of
45 on the front nine.  Ivan Audouin, Alan Fraser and Mike Nolan all matched Joe's score relative to par with scores
of 47 on the back nine.
Alan Fraser had the low net score of the week.  His score of 47 on the back nine gave him a net score of three
under par.  That give him the early lead for Low Net B for the season.  Newcomer George Lewis had the only other
sub-par net score with a net score of two under.  The low net score among the A players was Ivan Audouin, who
had a net score of even par.
George Weigler managed to hit the green on the 14th hole, although barely.  His tee shot settled on the front edge
of the green, while the flag was in the back, some 40 feet away.  It is not known if George was the only one to hit
the green on a par three or the only one to record it.  Nevertheless, it was good enough to earn the Closest to the
Pin prize for the week.
