The
playoffs got under way on another fine night for golf. The front nine
had been recently aerated, making putting |
a
challenge for the playoff teams. |

|
|
|
|
The
top seeds Alan Fraser and George Weigler took on Rich Geary and Sue Donovan
in the first match out. Sue |
led the
way with a net score of 2 under par as she and Rich advanced to the
semifinals by a 25-15 margin. She |
also
had a birdie on the 7th hole. |

|
|
|
In
the second match, Rick Kilduff and John Buscaglia faced Glenn Davis and Anil
Narwani. Anil started out strong |
with
a birdie on the first hole. He took the first four holes from John, but
Rick kept the match even by taking all four |
holes
from Glenn. In the end Glenn and Anil pulled away to a 25-15 victory.
Anil had a net score of 3 under par, |
despite
taking an 8 on the last hole. |

|
The
higher ranked team finally prevailed in the third match. Rob Moran and
Ollie Bisson played to a 20-20 tie with |
Ivan
Audouin and Norma Giannattasio, but the teams did not realize that the
match had been tied. The tiebreaker |
went
to Rob and Ollie, who had taken three points on the first hole. |

|
The
last playoff match was another tight one, Having gotten a reprieve
because of the previous week's cancellation, |
Steve
Schlehuber and George Lewis took on Carl Twomey, who was without his partner
Eric Solomont. Steve and |
George
eked out a 22-18 victory. |

|
|

|
|
|

|
|
|
|
Meanwhile,
on the other side of the golf course, Joe Shea turned in the best round
of the evening with a four over |
par
score of 40. Joe's partner, Peter Morlock, had the low net score for
the week. His score of 54 gave him a net |
score of 7 under par. |
