This Week in Golf – 8/3/2021
The course continued to dry out after another mostly rain-free week.  There were a lot of random golf balls littering the course,
probably left behind as the water they were lost in dried up.
Nate Cartwright had a round of 40 on the front nine, which gave him the low round of the week.  Nate birdied the first hole to
start off the round on a good note.
Meanwhile, Bob Paquette was posting a 42 on the back nine, which tied Nate's score in relation to par at 6 over.  Bob's net
score of four under par, while noteworthy, was not even close to the low net score this week.
The low net score this week was seven under par, which was posted by two players.  Alan Fraser had a net 27 on the par 34
front nine, while Maria Spitzak had a net 30 on the par 37 back nine.  Alan's net score was good enough to surpass the previous
Low Net A score for the year.
Gail Nielsen's tee ball on the par three sixth hole appeared to be right on line to the pin the whole way.  From the tee box, it
looked like it had a chance to go in, but settled eight feet from the hole.  That was good enough to win the sleeve of balls for
Closest to the Pin this week.
With one week left in the regular season, the race to make the playoffs is getting interesting.  Only 10 points separate the fifth
place and tenth place teams.  Most of the teams in the playoff hunt will be playing each other in the final week, so it's going to
come right down to the wire.
In the Aggie standings, Ivan Audouin holds a four point lead over Norma Giannattasio.  Joe Shea dropped back a bit this week,
but still has a chance to take the prize with a good week and a little help.
