This Week in Golf – 6/29/2021
The combination of extreme heat and humidity made it feel like it was well over 100 degrees.  A brief pop-up
shower cooled things off a bit until the sun came back out.  While many players were struggling with the heat,
some excelled.
With a scarcity of available alternates, Matt Morrell conscripted Chris Wedge to sub with him.  Chris ended up with
the low round of the week with a score of 4 over par 38 on the front nine.  He had a birdie on the seventh hole.
The low net score for the week belonged to Judi Gray, who had her best score ever with a 51 on the back nine.
That worked out to a net score of nine under par, easily surpassing the Low Net B score for the year.  Judi and her
partner Bob Paquette managed to take 32 points while playing against the course.
Matt Morrell also surpassed the previous Low Net B score as he carded a score of 41 on the front nine.  That gave
him a net score of seven under par.
Ollie Bisson set a new mark for the Low Net A score for the year.  He also shot 41 on the front nine to give him a
net score of six under par.
George Weigler continued his string of good rounds with his fourth straight round below net par.  This week, he had
a net score of five under par on the back nine.  With that, he reclaims his spot as the A player on the team.
For the second week in a row, Joe Shea took the Closest to the Pin prize.  This time, he had a distance of 13 feet
on the 17th hole.
