This Week in Golf – 4/27/2021
Week 2 brought another perfect evening for golf, with sunny skies and warm temperatures.
Nate Cartwright had the low score for the week with a score of 8 over par 42 on the front nine.  Dave Brennan, who
was subbing for Nate's partner was one stroke higher with a 43.  Joe Shea matched Nate's score relative to par
with a score of 44 on the back nine.
There were no sub-par net scores this week.  The low net score was even par, which was recorded by four
different players.  Mike Nolan scored his on the front nine, while Joe Shea, Carl Twomey, and Norma Giannattasio
all played the back nine.
On the third hole, George Weigler pulled his drive into the trees to the left of the fairway.  The ball ricocheted across
the fairway into the right rough.  Not to be outdone, his partner, John Buscaglia, sliced his drive off the fence of the
maintenance area.  His ball ended up a few yards ahead of George's.
Steve Schlehuber started his day in New Jersey, but drove back in time to play in his match.  He ran into a bit of
trouble on the eighth hole when his tee ball hit a cart belonging to the group playing the seventh hole.  He would go
on to make an 8 on the hole.
Bob Paquette took the Closest to the Pin prize for the week with a distance of 15 feet on the 14th hole.  His partner,
Judi Gray, had the next closest distance with 20 feet on the same hole.  Judi lobbied unsuccessfully for a separate
women's prize.
