This Week in Golf – 8/25/2020
Although the forecast called for possible thunderstorms, those storms stayed away from the course.  It
turned out to be a nice evening for the last week of the regular season.
Bill Meehan had the low round of the week with a 39 on the front nine.  With his partner Maria Spitzak
having a tough night, Bill's performance helped them take enough points to hold on to their first place
position in the team standings.
Mike McElhiney must have figured out his new clubs since last week.  He used those clubs to shoot the
low net score for the week, with a net score of 5 under par on the back nine.  That gives him the Low Net
B score for the year.  Mike and his partner Rich Geary made a run at the last playoff spot, but ultimately
fell a few points short.  When the dust settled, there were no changes in the top eight.
Steve Schlehuber held a slim lead in the Aggie standings going into the night, but only managed to take 7
points against the course.  That left the door open for Maria Spitzak and John Buscaglia.  Maria struggled
and slipped into third place.  John made a four foot putt on the 9th hole to earn one last point, which gave
him 10 points on the night and a tie with Steve.  The two will share the trophy.  Congratulations to both.
