This Week in Golf – 8/18/2020
It was another sunny and warm evening for the penultimate week of the regular season.  The eight
playoff teams and the Aggie trophy winner are still undecided with one week to go.
Joe Shea had the low round of the week with a scintillating score of 40 on the back nine.
He had a birdie on the 11th hole, which was offset by a bogey on the 13th hole.  Joe had
some trouble on the par 3's with a pair of double bogeys, but still managed to post the low
net score for the week, with a net 5 under par.
Greg Martinez had the only other sub-par net score with a net score of two under par.
Mike McElhiney bought new clubs and was using them for the first time this week.  There
appeared to be a bit of a learning curve, as Mike had some struggles, but he was still able
to prevail in his match.
Steve Schlehuber managed to maintain his lead in the Aggie standings going into the final
week of the regular season.  Maria Spitzak moved into second place, one point behind
Steve.  John Buscaglia slipped into third place, three points out of the lead.  One of those
three will claim the trophy after next week's matches.
While the top five teams appear to have playoff spots locked up, all 11 teams are still alive
for a playoff spot.  The last place team is only six points out of a playoff spot.  With
everyone playing against the course in their final match, it could be an interesting night.
