This Week in Golf – 5/26/2020
The season started in earnest this week with the first matches that counted.  It was also the unofficial
start of summer, although it felt pretty official with sunny skies and temperatures topping 80 degrees.
Bob Paquette was late for his match and missed the first hole.  Even with the double-bogey that he was
given for the hole as a result, he still managed to score a 42 on the front nine.  That was the low round for
the week.
George Weigler played all nine holes and carded one stroke more than Bob in the process.  His score of 43
gave him a net score of 3 under par, which was the low net for the week.  It gives him the early lead for
the Low Net B prize for the season, even though he will play as the A player starting next week.
George's opponent, Alan Fraser, had a good night as well, with a net score of two under par.  The two
ended up tying their match
Rick Kilduff had the Low Net A for the week, with a net score of one under par on the back nine.  He had
three pars in his first four holes, and four overall.
Rick's partner, Glenn Davis, was struggling on the first two holes, losing both, but he came alive on the
par-5 12th hole and lost just two points the rest of rest of the way.  As a result of their strong play, they
have the early lead in the standings.
