This Week in Golf – 5/19/2020 |

After
a one month delay, the 2020 season finally got underway with a practice
round. It was good to see |
everyone
again, although the face masks made it hard to actually see anyone. We could not have asked |
for
better weather for the opener. |

The
scores showed that most of us haven't touched a golf club in months, although
there were a few folks |
who
must have been sneaking out to practice.
The low score for the week was 45, which was recorded |
|
by
four players. Bob Paquette, Steve
Schlehuber and Jim Stead all accomplished the feat on the front |
|
nine. Meanwhile, Joe Shea carded his 45 on
the tougher back nine, so his score is the best of the week |
|
relative to par. |

Judi
Gray had the low net score for the week, with a net score of 2 under par on
the front nine. The good |
news
for her is that since this round didn't count, her handicap will not go down
as a result. The bad |
|
news
is that it also doesn't count for the "Low Net B" prize. |

Glenn
Davis had the only birdie of the week, with a 3 on the seventh hole. |

Nobody
won the Closest to the Pin award this week. I'm not sure if nobody hit a par-3
green or if they |
|
didn't
realize that the contest was on. |
