This Week in Golf – 9/25/2020
It was a warm and sunny day for the 2020 Hackers & Duffers Annual Outing.  This year's venue was Kettle
Brook Golf Club in Paxton.  The course was in fabulous shape for the twenty eight golfers who took part
this year.
Bill Meehan had the low round of the day, with a score of 84.  That gave him the prize for Low Gross in the
A Flight.  Bill's round included three birdies.
Steve Schlehuber took the top prize for Low Net in the A Flight.  His score of 90 gave him a net score of
two under par 70.  Steve had two birdies in his round.  Second place went to Alan Fraser with a net score
of 76.  There was a three-way tie for third place at net 77.  The tie-breaker took two holes to decide, but
ultimately went to Carl Twomey.
The Low Gross prize in the B flight was won by Eric Solomont.  His score of 93 was seven strokes better
than his nearest competitors.
Steve Palmer and John Buscaglia each had a gross score of 100 and net score of 71.  John fared better on
the first handicap hole (#9), so he claimed the first place prize, with Steve getting second place.  Judi Gray
took third place with a net score of 76.
There were a total of ten birdies made on the day.  Four of them came on the short par 4 13th hole.  In
addition to Bill and Steve, Alan Fraser, Mike McElhiney, Peter Morlock, Bob Paquette and Carl Twomey each
recorded a birdie.  Peter's was the only one in the B Flight.
