This Week in Golf – 8/20/2019
Although early in the season it looked unlikely, we managed to get the regular season completed.  The top
eight teams advance to the playoffs next week.
Steve Palmer had the low round and the low net for the week.  His score of 44 on the back gave him a net
score of 3 under par.  His handicap continues to drop and is now equal to his partner's.  Steve narrowly
avoids taking over as the "A" player to start the playoffs.
Mike McElhiney and Rich Geary took a 27-13 victory over Sue Donovan and Jim Geary to secure their
position as the top seed in the playoffs.  Rich took 12 points against his brother to claim the Aggie Trophy
by six points over Steve Palmer.  With their loss, Sue and Jim drop to eighth place and earn a rematch
with Mike and Rich next week in the first round of the playoffs.
Ollie Bisson and Norma Giannattasio were forced to play the course this week.  They managed to take 22
points, but that left them in ninth place, just a single point behind Sue and Jim.
Dave Gustafson opened his round with a birdie on the tenth hole.  That would be the only birdie recorded
this week.
