This Week in Golf – 7/16/2019
We had another fine summer evening for the eighth week of the regular season.  In spite of a slow start,
we're now nearly two-thirds of the way through the season, with only five weeks remaining until the
playoffs.
Playing against the course, Bob Paquette had the low round of the week with a score of 41 on the front
nine.  He and partner Judi Gray took 22 points in their match.
Sue Donovan had the low net of the week.  Her score of 48 on the back nine gave her a net score of four
under par.
Partners Bill Meehan and Alan Fraser both birdied the 18th hole.  Playing in the following group, Mike
McElhiney did one better by making an eagle.  He reached the green in two and sank a 20 foot putt for the
big bird.
The top two teams faced off against each other this week.  The second place team of Mike McElhiney and
Rich Geary managed a 24-16 victory to forge a tie with Steve Schlehuber and Eric Solomont atop the
standings.  With the top five teams separated by only 8 points, the last five weeks of the regular season
should be interesting.
