This Week in Golf – 8/14/18
The rain had finished, for the most part, before the league teed off.  There were a few brief showers, but
no lightning, so we played.  The course was wet and the rough was lush as a result of all the rain.
Bill Meehan had the low round of the week, with an eight over par score of 41 on the front.  Bill got off to
a slow start with a triple bogey on the opening hole, but settled down after that.
There was another round that matched Bill's score relative to par.  That round belonged to Ollie Bisson,
who shot 43 on the back.  Ollie took advantage of the par 3's.  On #14, he took the closest to the pin
honors with a distance of 12 feet.  On #17, he hit his 3-wood just short of the green and holed the putt from
about 60 feet away for the lone birdie of the week.
Ollie also had the low net for the week.  His net score of four under par ties the Low Net A for the year.
There is now a four-way tie.  Can someone post five under in the final week to break the logjam?
Steve Schlehuber and Sean McElroy slipped into second place, three points behind Ollie Bisson and Norma
Giannattasio.  Both teams are assured of getting into the playoffs.
John Buscaglia and Jim Stead improved their chances of earning a playoff berth, as they leap-frogged over
Sue Donovan and Peter Morlock into seventh place.  Sue and Peter had the misfortune of having to play
against the course in the difficult conditions.
The Aggie trophy is still up for grabs going into the final week of the season.  Norma Giannattasio holds a
one point lead over Jim Stead, with Steve Schlehuber one point further back.
