This Week in Golf – 6/26/18
The second half of the season started with another fine night.
Bill Meehan had the low round of the week with a 39 on the front nine.  Bill started the round with six
straight bogeys and finished up with three straight pars.
Ivan Audouin was playing his first match since taking over as the A player.  Since he currently has the Low
Net B score for the year, Ivan was wondering if it was possible to have both Low Net B and Low Net A.
His net score of one under par on the front was not good enough to surpass the current Low Net A, but
did tie for the low net for the week.  Doug Sampson shared the honor with Ivan.
As Joe Shea stood on the 17th tee, he noticed an unusually large group on the green ahead.  A quick
count found five on the green and two just off it.  It turned out that a player from one of the earlier
leagues needed to finish the last three holes and joined the group to make a fivesome.  The other two
were not part of the group, but were teeing off from the blue tees on the second hole.
Glenn Davis' tee ball on the par three eighth hole ended up ten feet from the hole.  His partner Maria
Spitzak stepped up and put her ball inside Glenn's to claim the Closest to the Pin prize this week.  Both
would make par on the hole.  Glenn would manage to par all three of the par threes on the front side.
