This Week in Golf – 5/8/2018
It was another picture-perfect night for golf.  The greens had been aerated and top dressed with sand,
which made putting a challenge.
Two players were undaunted by the greens, however.  Both Bob Paquette and Doug Sampson posted
scores of 42 on the front, which was the low round for the week.
Sue Donovan had the low net score for the week.  Her score of 45 on the back gave her a net score of
three under par.  That vaults her into the lead for Low Net A.  Sue did not lose a hole until the last as she
took 15 of the 18 points in her match.
Greg Martinez also had a good night.  His score of 47 on the front gave him the new Low Net B score with
net even par.
Maria Spitzak found the bunker off the tee on the par three sixth hole.  It took her three tries to get out,
but true to the old adage, the third time was the charm, as she knocked it a couple of inches from the
hole.
Peter Morlock and Elaine Hausmann showed off their chipping prowess on the fourteenth.  Each missed the
green with their tee shots, but chipped to within "gimme" distance for par.
Glenn Davis had his drive on the second hole strike one of the forward tee markers and ricochet off to
parts unknown.  Things evened out a bit on the sixth hole when he hit the fence, which kept the ball from
going further off line.
