This Week in Golf – 5/18/2017
We seem to have bypassed spring and gone directly to summer, with sunny skies and temperatures in the
mid 90's this week.
Two players broke 40 this week.  Chuck Bourgery had the low round of the week with a two over par 37
on the front.  Rick Kilduff had a 39 this week, although he did it on the back nine.  Rick had two birdies
on holes #1 and #4.
Three players shared the low net score for the week at net two under par.  Steve Schlehuber and Mike
Maloney played the front nine, while Mike Mancini played the back.
Steve Schlehuber had his first birdie of the year on the seventh hole.  His drive found the trees to the
left of the fairway and he had to play a low runner with his second shot to avoid some branches.  He
executed the shot perfectly and had a kick in birdie putt.
Going by the theory that "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em", Glenn Davis teamed up with Dave Gustafson
this week.  Although they didn't win their match, Glenn did fare better with Dave than against him.
Dave Gustafson won the Closest to the Pin this week with a distance of two feet on the second hole.  He
was not able to convert the putt, though.
