This Week in Golf – 5/11/2017
More cool weather was in store this week, leaving some to wonder if spring would ever arrive.
Chuck Bourgery had the low round again this week, as he and partner Carl Taylor were against the course
for the second time in three weeks.  Chuck posted an even par 35 on the front nine.  A birdie on the
fourth hole was offset by a bogey on the fifth.
Eric Solomont recorded the low net for the week with a net five under par 30 on the front.  Two triple
bogies on the first and fifth holes marred what was otherwise an exceptional round.
For the second week in a row, Dave Gustafson subbed against Glenn Davis, giving Glenn a chance to
avenge last week's defeat.  Alas, it was not to be as Dave and Maria Spitzak topped a partnerless Glenn
by a 31-9 score.
Mike McElhiney's drive on the seventh hole went through the trees, leaving him a short pitch to the green.
He was able to take advantage and make a birdie.
Greg Martinez and John Buscaglia did not fare as well on the seventh.  Greg hit his tee ball into the pond.
He re-teed and hit his next into the trees.  He ended up playing up the eighth hole.  Meanwhile, John sliced
his drive into the creek, took a drop and put the next shot back into the creek.  By the time they reached
the green, they were both lying eight.  Greg ended up winning the hole with a 10 against John's 11.
