This Week in Golf – 4/27/17
After two days of rain, it was overcast but warm for week two of the season.  The course was too wet for
carts, though, so several players were not able to play.
Because of this, Chuck Bourgery and Carl Taylor were forced to play the course and made the most of it.
Chuck posted the low round of the week with a one under par 34 on the front nine.  He made par on the
first eight holes and finished off the round with a birdie on the ninth.  His net score of two under par 33
gave him the Low Net A score for the year.
Carl Taylor had the low net score for the week.  His score of 44 on the front nine gave him a net score of
six under par 29.  That sets the Low Net B score for the year and may prove hard to beat.  Together, he
and Chuck took 32 points.
There were a couple of other big scores as well.  Sid Stafford and Greg Martinez took 30 points from Sue
and Mary Geary.  The largest point tally belonged to Jim Geary and Dan Sherman, who took 33 points
from Sean McElroy, who was making his return to the league after a few years absence.
Joe Shea took the Closest to the Pin honors this week with 19 feet on the sixth hole.  He was the only
one to record a distance, but he still wins the sleeve of newly-minted "Hackers & Duffers" golf balls.
